Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Bifurcations is a large scale commission in the atrium of the new Hilton Signia Hotel that connects the Mercedes-Benz Stadium to the Georgia World Congress Center. The piece is a suspended series of bands made of a polymeric filaments resenting one of the most unique and beloved characteristics of Atlanta, that it is the ‘city in the forest’. The piece is inspired by the form of the Crape Myrtle tree and is made from a biopolymer, a literal transformation of the forest as both a representation and material artifact.
